Celebrating Women’s History Month: A Spotlight on Our Controller

March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor the achievements and contributions of women in various fields and aspects of society. This year, we recognize and celebrate one of our own women leaders: our Controller, Mildred Rosado.

Mildred joined Capstone in 2007 and currently manages the Accounting Department. Her responsibilities encompass a wide range of daily accounting tasks, including financial reporting, journal entry preparation, bank account reconciliation, handling of client disbursements, collections, and general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.

Mildred assists with the preparation of financial statements, manages our commercial finance software platform, supervises and trains accounting personnel, is a crucial liaison with investors, assists external auditors with the annual audit, helps organize company office functions, and works directly with the CFO on special projects. She also provides strategic guidance and insights to the executive management and account management teams, helping us make informed decisions on portfolio management and risk assessment.

Mildred has more than 20 years of experience in accounting and commercial finance industries, working for various organizations. Prior to joining Capstone, Mildred worked for a receivables management firm specializing in the audit and recovery of deductions taken by client debtors. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Virginia Union University.
Mildred is not only a skilled and reliable financial professional, but also a passionate and dedicated leader. She has built a strong and cohesive accounting team over the years, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and innovation. She mentors her staff, encouraging them to grow and develop their potential.

Mildred is also bilingual in Spanish and has been key in providing translations for clients, investors, and other parties as necessary. Outside the office, she loves gardening and is a dedicated mother.
